Founded in 1964 by brothers Pierre and Gilles Bouvrette, Le Rouet is rooted in Montreal first covered shopping centre, Place Versailles, in a 12 square foot kiosk. Le Rouet was born at a time when Quebec was rediscovering its traditional craftsmanship through a new generation of young artisans fleeting back to the countryside and becoming the “new wave” weavers, wood-crafters, potters, ceramists and jewelers. In this spirit, Le Rouet created its first ties with local suppliers and established a reputation based on the excellence of local handy-craft.
Initially being mostly perceived as a gift-shop, Le Rouet has now grown into a well-established network of over 40 boutiques offering a great variety of decorative and practical objects for the home. This large variety of products has always been the main selling strongpoint. Through a considerably enlarged network of suppliers, Le Rouet is now able to offer a vast selection of exclusive products at unbeatable prices. With this said, we invite you to a festival of low prices and fantastic deals in an everlasting and unique atmosphere of conviviality.
Welcome to Le Rouet!
